The swimwear industry can oftentimes be a difficult and confusing place to navigate. With prices either extremely low, or extremely high, it can be hard to know which swimwear will best fit your needs.

While it can be tempting to opt in for the most sustainable and expensive swimsuits on the market, it unfortunately is not an option for many of us in today’s economy. As shown above, there are lots of options when it comes to clothing resale that are quite cost and style savvy. Shopping in person at thrift stores and consignment shops also allows you to better gauge if a size will work or not, however apps such as Poshmark and Depop oftentimes accept returns as well.

Aerie, sister brand of American Eagle, specializes in swim and intimates. They sell swimwear that typically ranges from $35-100. Woah. We know we just scared you, but do not worry. Aerie has sales almost constantly. Currently they are having a 50% off swimwear sale, where most of their swimwear is sitting around $18.

Another brand to keep your eye on is Victoria’s Secret. While known to be pricey, their swimwear will typically only run you about $20 for a bikini set.

A third brand to keep your eyes peeled for is Old Navy. Child of the parent brand “GAP” you are ensured a true bang for your buck here. Old Navy is another store that runs sales very often, so be sure to track when sales were occur, and treat yourself when they pop up!

There are many amazing swimwear brands that offer swimwear at an affordable price, so don’t be afraid to do some internet digging!

Another excellent tip is to keep your eyes on sales calendar for brands you love. Even the largest and most high end brands typically run a sale at least once a year. One smart move that will save you write a few bucks is by shopping swimwear in the off season (November, December), when it is priced at its lowest.
