Tigerlily appointed Chris Buchanan as Managing Director & CEO in May 2018.

Buchanan’s extensive experience and creative vision is the driving force to re-position Tigerlily as the leading Fashion Resortwear brand with global expansion at the forefront, whilst continuing the brands journey to address climate change.

Determined to raise the bar, April 2019 saw the release of Tigerlily’s first annual Consciousness Report. Buchanan has been working diligently behind the scenes with the Tigerlily team on a sustainability strategy that centres key issues currently preoccupying the global fashion industry: circularity, supply chain transparency, waste and climate impact.

Aspects the company have addressed include ethical production certification for its labour force, and increasing the use of natural fibres, recycled yarns, and fabric produced with Lenzing certification, meaning made from renewable wood supplies using a closed-loop system that includes the fabric being ultimately biodegradable.

The company has also switched from traditional plastic packaging to a version that breaks down in water, and plans to switch to compostable within 12 months. Airfreight has been reduced and overtaken by sea freight to reduce carbon emissions.

Prior to joining Tigerlily, Chris Buchanan held senior management positions with Cotton On, Willow and Diva Accessories. Mr. Buchanan was also the Chairman of International Development not-for-profit YGAP for 5 years.
